TWO SIDES
I haven’t updated the blog in a while, as I have been gearing up for the private performances of Forever in One Second. Coordinating schedules and travel between these performances has been wild, mainly because each request is very different. Designing an experience that fits an all-in-one is always challenging, but it also allows me to think outside the box and find other solutions, some brand new.
People often ask me if I prefer to do private performances or public shows, and the truth is that it’s hard to compare both. They are like two sides of the same coin, meaning that each has a personality but belongs to the same sort of work. I like the idea of crafting things for a specific time and place, and these performances help me not only do that but also teach me how that is possible. In a theater, I have certain conditions that I can’t get in a house I perform in, but some rooms I have done private performances in are the ultimate set for magic, like a beautiful home library or a guest house. It’s hard to pick a favorite, as I can explore unique things in each environment. Now, I am considering if I can set Forever in One Second as a public performance.
As for now, It’s time to stop for the holidays and family time. I will give this blog a break until 2025. Until then, have a wonderful holiday season with your family, and I hope 2025 brings you all the happiness and joy you are looking for!
